I’m designing a new larp with @lexmiln running this September in Edinburgh called Strandfall!
30 players will embark on a desperate expedition in a real park in Edinburgh to uncover the nature of mysterious storms that are ravaging the world. Over the course of three hours, they’ll use our custom solarpunk-style “spatial computers” to forecast and investigate the storms, track down missing scientists, connect a long-distance radio network, and make fateful decisions that will change them as individuals and a community.
We’re fortunate to be funded by Immersive Arts in the UK, which is how we’re building our custom computers. Very few larps, let along Nordic-style larps, have received arts funding in the UK, so we see this as a huge step and a big responsibility.
Strandfall will be free to play, and signups will open later this year.
You can keep up to date via our website, where we already have posts about:
- Our influences, including PUBG, Death Stranding, and Chaos League’s Eclipse
- The technical design and capabilities of our “spatial computers”
- What we learned from this year’s Nordic Larp conference
And here are some new work-in-progress pics!
